How we handle your data
We only ask for what we need to schedule and prepare a call with you. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t track you on this website.
Who is responsible
Evans Labs is a trade name of studioname V.O.F., Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 42113694. You can send questions about your data to info@evans-labs.com.
What data we use
When you book a call, we ask for:
- your first name and email address;
- the name and website of your company;
- if you fill them in: your surname, your role, the options you select about your business and what you need help with, and anything you’d like to tell us beforehand;
- the time you choose.
If you email us, we keep your message and your email address.
To prevent misuse of the booking form, we also store a code derived from your IP address with each appointment. Without our key, your IP address can’t be recovered from it. We keep the code for as long as the appointment itself (see below).
Why, and on what basis
We use this data to schedule the call, send you an invitation, prepare the call and follow up with you about your question. We do this because you ask us to: these are steps taken before a possible agreement (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Who else processes the data
We use two services that process data on our behalf. Both are bound by agreements on security and confidentiality.
- Google (Google Workspace, Google Calendar and Google Meet): this is where the appointment, the invitation and our email are kept.
- Vercel: hosts this website and counts visits (see ‘Cookies and analytics’). On every visit, Vercel sees technical data such as your IP address, which it needs to serve and secure the site.
Both companies may process data in the United States. They are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which makes this permissible under European rules.
How long we keep it
If you don’t become a client, we delete your data no later than twelve months after the call. If you do, we keep it for as long as we work together. Data we have to keep for tax purposes, such as invoices, we keep for seven years.
Cookies and analytics
This website doesn’t use advertising services or cookies to track you. We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics. To do so, Vercel creates a code from technical details of your request when you visit; that code expires after 24 hours. This shows us how many people visit the site, which pages they view, where they come from (for example a search engine), what kind of device and which country they use, and how often a call is booked. We can’t tell who you are from this. We do this to improve the site; that is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
There is one cookie: if you choose Dutch or English yourself, we remember that choice for a year (cookie “taal”). It’s a functional cookie, so no consent is needed. Without that choice, you stay on the page you open; if your browser uses another language, we suggest that version. The fonts are hosted on our own server.
Your rights
You can view, correct or delete your data. You can also object to its use, or ask to receive your data in a file. To do so, email info@evans-labs.com. We’ll respond within one month.
If you’re not happy with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
